OPEN A GRADE BRASSHello fellow Open A Brass Percussionists. I hope “Siege” is treating you well. The Anvil for your section will be a Grover Pro Percussion Musical Anvil, pitches 1 and 3, with a suitable hammer featuring a Brass and a PVC head. For a demonstration of this instrument, head to youtu.be/2ZlS4XU3hAw. Make sure you bring your own Vibraslap, Wood Blocks (unless you want to use the supplied Temple Blocks), Ratchet and Sleigh Bells, and of course, all your mallets.OPEN B GRADE BRASSHello Open B Brass Percussionists! “Hope” is one of my favourite test pieces out of all the grades. Of course, it doesn’t really have anything unusual in it. You’ll need to bring your own Triangle, Sleigh Bells, Egg Shaker and Tambourine, plus all your mallets of course, but all other instruments for your Test piece will be supplied.OPEN C GRADE BRASSHello Open C Brass Percussionists! Viking Age is certainly a wonderful piece for you and I hope you’re enjoying it. You’ll need to make sure you bring your own Tambourine and Triangle, plus all of your mallets of course, but otherwise all the other instruments you require for this piece will be available on the day.OPEN D GRADE BRASSHello Open D Brass Percussionists! “Music for Greenwich” is a nice, straightforward piece for us. You’ll need to bring a Triangle along, and all your sticks and mallets for the other instruments, but those instruments will all be there for you. ... See MoreSee Less

JUNIOR A GRADE CONCERTHello Junior A Concert Percussionists! Ford’s Machine is a lot of fun isn’t it! You get a lot of fun toys to play with in the Percussion parts too. You will have two octaves of Crotales to play – you’ll want either metal or hard plastic Glockenspiel mallets to play them with. Your stage will have 5 Concert Toms, plus you’ll be getting a Zildjian 18” Sizzle Cymbal. You’ll also have the Grover Pro musical Anvil in pitches 1 and 3 with the matching Grover hammer featuring a Brass and a PVC head. There are two ends with two pitches (plus a point in the middle that works well too) which means you can play the “Anvil” and “Brake Drum” parts on the one instrument. For a demonstration of this instrument, head to youtu.be/2ZlS4XU3hAw. You’ll need to bring your own Triangle, and your choice of Police Whistle, plus all of your mallets of course.JUNIOR B GRADE CONCERTHello Junior B Grade Concert Percussionists! I’m sure you’re all having a great time with “Surfonic Winds”. Now, something that is quite important – in the middle of the piece the composer asks for an “Ocean Harp”, usually better known as a Waterphone. These instruments are quite rare, quite expensive and can easily be damaged, so we are NOT providing one. If you have one of these rare creatures, please feel free to use it! If you don’t to get a similar effect, I recommend using Super Ball mallets (such as these from Balter - www.optimumpercussion.com.au/index.php/mike-balter-ersr-super-rubber-mallets.html) on the Tam Tam. It will give you that “Whale song” type sound that the composer is after. You’ll also need to bring your own Rain Stick and Sandpaper Blocks, as well as all your mallets of course.JUNIOR C GRADE CONCERTHello Junior C Concert Percussionists! You’ve got a really fun piece there in “Overture Spiritoso”. Don’t worry if you don’t have enough players to play all the parts, as long as you get all the important bits in and have fun doing it, you’ll be fine! All your instruments for that piece will be on stage ready for you, just make sure you bring all your sticks and mallets with you, and have fun! ... See MoreSee Less
