The BANSW is pleased to announce that there will be an Intermediate Conductors Workshop in Lithgow at the Lithgow City Band Hall on the weekend of 30 & 31 May 2020.
This workshop is specifically designed for those conductors wanting to challenge their current skill level.
Spots are limited to 12 people maximum so please register your interest soon, as the workshop will fill quite quickly. The cost to attend the workshop will be $50 for the weekend. In order to secure your spot, you should make payment at the same time as registering your interest. The bank account details for payment are located on the ‘How to Register’ page in the About Us tab.
The BANSW would like to thank our facilitator, Eddie Claxton for putting together and running these workshops. As a volunteer organisation, we can only hold these workshops if someone puts their hand up. Eddie has done a wonderful job on this workshop and we couldn’t be more pleased.
The feedback provided by past participants was been greatly appreciated and may enable the BANSW to run this course on a regular basis. The natural progression beyond this will be to hold extension workshops as your experience grows. Held over the course of a weekend, we will continue with the format of theory on the first day and then practical on the following day.
This information sheet will provide intended interested parties with more information about the course.
This is a BANSW run event so interested participants should be a member of a BANSW registered band. If you are a non-member interested in attending the workshop, please contact the Association Secretary.
Upcoming Masterclass / Workshops
The annual Percussion masterclass will be held for Juvenile and Junior Percussion entrants in the NSW State Solo & Party Championships in June. The masterclasses will be run by the Percussion adjudicator and will involve feedback on performance, techniques and helpful advice.
A Secretary handbook is currently being prepared which may evolve into a workshop depending on demand. The handbook will work through the key points required of a secretary in a community band.
Depending on interest from the community smaller masterclasses and workshops will be advertised that focus on small ensembles, individual instruments, conducting etc. If you have an idea for a workshop or something that you would like for the Association to do please feel free to let us know.
